The Concept of diet is funny, since no other living organism changes their diet as much as humans do. There’s the Keto diet, the Paleo diet, the Blood type diet, the Atkins diet, the No-Carb diet, the GM diet, Dixit diet so on and so forth.
How did we get here?
Truth be told, people only decide to go on a diet when they want to lose weight or change the parameters on their blood test results.

Your body knows when to gain fat and where to store it:
– There are multiple reasons why the body will gain fat and then store fat. We help you find those reasons.
– Eliminating most of these underlying reasons OR bringing them under balanced control will help the body release stored fat without causing health issues like Anemia, Hair Loss, Gall Bladder issues, Weakness, etc.
Eg.: Ms AJ suffering from Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism was explained that having a Thyroid issue need not necessarily mean you will gain weight. Also, exercising excessively will only stress out your Thyroid gland (and affect T4 levels) which in turn will NOT convert to Weight/Fat loss.
Ms AJ who is currently going through her Nutrition program at our facility shows the difference in her body’s Fat Loss just by managing a good Nutrition program. She has Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism with other Inflammatory issues that complicates Fat Loss. But bringing these issues under control and eliminating most other underlying issues has helped her to lose fat. Heavy reliance on Blood tests as a measure of Physical wellness:
– Patients and doctors rely heavily on blood tests and scans to know what’s going on within a patient’s body. But a lot of underlying health issues start off early and elude (remain undetected) most blood tests.
– Man made tests sometimes cannot detect most issues, until it is late. It is important therefore to listen to what your body is telling you. Bodily symptoms tell us a lot before blood tests often do.
Eg: Insulin resistance shows up symptomatically in a lot of patients even before it can be detected on blood tests. Pin-pointing this Insulin Resistance and eliminating it, is key to NOT becoming a full blown Diabetic. The key lies in pin-pointing it!
Exercise is Medicine and the Dose matters:
– It is common knowledge that one has to be medically fit before starting with an exercise program. This principle is however never really followed by anyone.
– Exercising in the presence of underlying health problems does more damage to your Immune system and worsens underlying health issues. When your body is well nourished and hydrated, you have enough energy to expend on exercise. Remember that Exercise releases Stress hormones. Your body therefore does not get threatened by exercise (stress hormones released during exercise) when it is well nourished, hydrated and when underlying health issues are well taken care of.
– Exercise is Medicine and the Dose matters! The dose should be chosen with the intent of optimizing the intended goal along with a firm understanding of training adaptations. Patients with Metabolic dysfunction (Clinical patients) should employ MICT (Moderate Intensity Continuous training)
– In conclusion, Optimal Health is 90% Nutrition and just 10% Exercise.
Eg.: Visit any Gym and you will see several helpless, seemingly overweight women running on a treadmill. With underlying Inflammation, poor digestion and disturbed sleep issues many of these women put additional Stress on their Thyroid glands by running excessively, thus increasing their T4 hormone levels. In the long term, most of these women show symptomatic Hypothyroidism and have to be recommended Thyroid medication
Eating less AND working out more:
The classic trope of eating less (to ingest less calories) and working out more (to burn more calories) puts tremendous stress on your Thyroid and subsequently your Immune system. Eventually your body remains consistently stressed while you temporarily achieve your Dream weight on the scale. If done correctly, for a short period of time and under the guidance of a trained Nutritionist/ Personal Trainer – eating lesser calories may actually help an athlete/celebrity lose those kilos to achieve their short term weight goals. Following such a diet for a longer period is neither sustainable nor healthy. Low Calorie diets often lead to the development of Cravings and can often put the body into a Nutrient deficit.
– On another note, an athlete’s body and Nutritional requirements are different from those of a regular individual’s.
Always, always eat for your bodily needs and goals, and not for reasons that it worked for someone else.
Following a diet trend that worked out for your friend or family member:
– Your body is unique, your Nutrition needs are different, your stress levels are unique, your mind body control is unique – then why do you follow a Nutrition regimen that worked for someone else? Why isn’t your Nutrition /Diet NOT customized to your daily physical/ mental needs?

Eg.: We have seen several cases of patients who followed the infamous Keto diet and lost oodles of weight, only to be shot down with a bad case of Gall Bladder stones, High Cholesterol levels OR Gut Dysbiosis. There have been clients who have had to remove their Gall Bladders surgically due to continuous Digestive issues and Skin Allergies that they have faced years down the line. Unknown to most people, the Keto diet has been regarded as the worst diet of the Century. Here’s another piece of information: The Keto diet was originally intended for Epileptic patients only!
Few facts about the Gut Microbiome ( Skin/Scalp/Urogenital Microbiome):
– Hundreds of different species of bacteria and viruses live in the gut. The community contains an estimated 40 trillion cells, which is slightly more than the number of human cells making up our bodies. This enormous collective may help ward off viruses through three primary mechanisms:
- building a wall that blocks invaders;
- deploying advanced weaponry; and
- providing support to the immune system.
Trillions of Microbes living IN and ON us – collectively known as the Human Microbiome call the body their home and they need it to survive. Intestinal Bacteria have been known to assist with digestion, make certain nutrients and communicate with other body parts such as the brain using chemical signals.
– The trillions of microbes that live in our Gut have an important role, often helping us to keep us healthy. But they have also been tied to increased risk of Chronic conditions such as Arthritis, Cancer, Heart disease, Diabetes and Obesity.
– COVID-19 produces few to no symptoms in many people but can be life threatening in others. Emerging research is suggesting that the state of a patient’s Microbiome may be a contributing factor to what drives the Dramatically different responses to the SARS-COV-2 infection in different patients. Perturbations in the Gut Microbiome may be linked to the so-called Cytokine storm, an overreactive immune response thought to be a potential driver of severe COVID-19.
– The Microbes in the Gut are known to influence the health of the Lungs through Chemical communication.
– Reshaping the Gut Microbiota through properly guided Intermittent fasting can reduce Hypertension (Blood pressure). All the latest research studies show that Disruption of Gut Microbiota (known as Gut Dysbiosis) can have adverse effects on Blood pressure.
– Changes in the Gut Microbes of Malnourished children help them to gain weight and grow up healthy.
–The health of your Scalp hair and Skin is also determined by the Microbes present on your Scalp and Skin. In order to promote re-growth of Scalp hair, it is imperative to promote a healthy pH level of the scalp and improve Microbial health within the body.
– Autism Spectrum disorder symptoms and Gut Microbes have a dynamic relationship. Parents of children diagnosed with Autism should work on improving their child’s Gastrointestinal problems like Abdominal pain, Constipation, Bloating, Loose stools in order to improve the Gut Brain Axis (The Gut speaks to the Brain in order to modulate Brain signals).
– Studies in Animals have also proven how the Gut Microbiome influences their health. Your Genetics:
– Your DNA outlines your body’s predisposition or ‘potential’ for certain wellness traits like weight gain, aging and sleep. But your DNA does not define you completely.
